How Select Level works?

I'm trying to understand how the Select Level for Sudoku grid works



Whatever the level I select, I got a message who said that I loose points and some numbers will be add to the grid, but after the page come back nothing change on the grid



So who can explain me how use this fonction ? and how check the amount of number added to the grid?

if you change a level only NEXT puzzle will be loaded with aditional starting numbers
