Sudoku Launch Link

Postby victory1 on Sat Nov 20, 2010 9:52 pm

s it possible that instead of having a main menu link or main page link in order to display Sudoku, that it can be launch via a sub-forum (link or button inside that forum)? I have a Game forum inside my board and don't want any game link on the main menu. It could be inside a thread or just inside the forum (I will create a sub forum call Sudoku inside my Game Forum).

Here's my board link if you need it: http://www.sonyreaderboards.com

Thanks

need help fixing the portal link. If I'm in http://www.sonyreaderboards.com/forums/ ... sudoku.php and I click Portal on the menu I get this address below

http://www.sonyreaderboards.com/forums/portal.php and that gives me HTTP 404 error - The webpage cannot be found

The reason for that is my portal is outside the forums and the portal address is http://www.sonyreaderboards.com/portal.php with no /forums

Everything else works great because they are inside the /forums

Thanks

lease, try to read this topic viewtopic.php?f=44&t=525 winkk:::

there had been exactly the same problem because phpbb root path was not correctly defined in overall header winkk:::

this is the code in your header
Code: Select all
<li><a href="../portal.php">Portal</a></li>

it must be:
Code: Select all
<li><a href="./../../portal.php">Portal</a></li>

hat's the complete path? I cant find this in my overall_header

styles/redsteel/template/overall_header.html

Also the portal path works everywhere on my board except for the sudoku, so will changing it affect the other pages?

This is what I have in my overall_header

Code: Select all
<li><a href="{U_PORTAL}">{L_PORTAL}</a></li>

This is the path for U_portal in include/functions.php

Code: Select all
'U_PORTAL'            => (isset($portal_config['portal_enable']) && $portal_config['portal_enable'] == true) ? append_sid("../portal.$phpEx") : '',

ortal is a hand made MOD with no correctly defined link(as if it alwas being called from forum root)

you have to define it correctly in includes/functions.php

it must be:

Code: Select all
'U_PORTAL'            => append_sid("./.{$phpbb_root_path}portal.$phpEx"),

in this case portal link will work fine everywhere winkk:::

ust make it:

Code: Select all
'U_PORTAL'            => (isset($portal_config['portal_enable']) && $portal_config['portal_enable'] == true) ? append_sid("./.{$phpbb_root_path}portal.$phpEx") : '',

hanks it worked but I used the original that you posted. smile:::

Code: Select all
'U_PORTAL'            => append_sid("./../../portal.$phpEx")

Because when I moved my portal outside of the forums it was said to remove the $phpbb_root_path

Code: Select all
Open /forums/includes/functions.php

Find

Code: Select all

            'U_PORTAL'            => append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}portal.$phpEx"),

eplace with

Code: Select all

            'U_PORTAL'            => append_sid("../portal.$phpEx"),

That also worked so I changed it! :smt023

I have 1 more question! I hope it's the last. :badgrin: This one is easy.

OK, what file do I need to edit so the Sudoku grid in my dark style won't be 2 tone. I noticed it's being inherited from Row1 and Row2 of my stylesheet.css (it's a subsilver base style call Black Pearl). I would like all the grids to be Row1 since the darker Row2 colors makes separation of the rows & columns unreadable. It looks great being 1 tone in my light prosilver theme Red Steel.

Thanks, that was an easy fix and it looks so much better being 1 tone with the dark background.

wanted to give an update on the 'U_PORTAL' path. One of my members discovered today if you hit Portal on the menu while you are in the Portal you get the 404 error because it added /forums to the path and you get http://www.sonyreaderboards.com/forums/portal.php the 2nd time. I was able to solve it by going back to the 1st code. Just in case someone else runs into that situation.

Went back:

Code: Select all
'U_PORTAL'            => append_sid("./../../portal.$phpEx")

Before it was:

Code: Select all
'U_PORTAL'            => append_sid("./.{$phpbb_root_path}portal.$phpEx")
